FBI Director James Comey strongly defended Wednesday his decision to alert Congress just days before the 2016 election about his agency’s investigation into emails potentially related to Hillary Clinton’s personal server, telling senators while the idea of impacting the election made him “mildly nauseous,” he would not change what he did.
Former NBA All-Star guard Brandon Roy was injured in a shooting over the weekend in the Los Angeles area, according to multiple reports.
According to KING-TV, Roy was treated in Southern California before returning to Washington state, where he is a head coach at Seattle’s Nathan Hale High School. He is expected to recover.
Roy reportedly was a bystander in the shooting.
The Portland Trail Blazers, with whom Roy spent the majority of his career, issued a statement on Tuesday night in response to the reports:
“Like many others, we’re just learning of the injury suffered by former Trail Blazers player Brandon Roy in a shooting over the weekend in California. According to those reports, Brandon was wounded as a bystander but is expected to recover. Our thoughts and prayers are with Brandon and his family during this time.”
Roy played five seasons in Portland before retiring in 2011 because of ongoing trouble with his knees. He attempted a comeback in 2012 and appeared in five regular-season games for the Minnesota Timberwolves, before undergoing another knee surgery. He was released in March 2013.
Roy took over Nathan Hale’s boys’ basketball program in 2016 and was named the Naismith National High School Coach of the Year after leading his team to an undefeated (29-0) record during the regular season.
Rapper DMX has checked into rehab, after a meltdown on the stage last weekend.
X, born Earl Simmons, was the headliner last weekend during the Ruff Ryders Reunion concert at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York.
But the rapper shocked fans, when he went on a bizarre rant, mid-way through his set.
The outburst caused DMX fans to wonder about his health, since the rap star has had a long running battle with substance abuse.
Earlier last week, it was announced that DMX would be canceling a series of shows, prompting further speculation about a possible relapse.
According to DMX’s rep, the rapper indeed has relapsed, and is heading into rehab according to a statement from his representative.
“It is important right now that he take some time off to focus on his health so that he can be a better father, friend and entertainer.
“We are eternally grateful for the outpouring of concern and support that has poured in. We ask that you please keep X in your prayers as he embraces your support.”
DMX is supposed to be one of the headlining acts at the upcoming Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival, which is due to take place July 10-16.
